The AMBIO Cooperative and the El Triunfo Conservation Fund (FONCET), with the financial support of the Banamex Social Commitment Program, carry out in the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, the Awareness and Training Program for Environmental Responsibility, aimed to train young people as local environmental promoters. The program considers 4 phases in the training process.
Since November 2018, the third phase of this program has been implemented with the development of participatory workshops for for life, a theater-forum for creative and transformative dialogue, and a theater of the oppressed, which promotes a social transformation.
The workshop was attended by young people of the Puerto Rico Ejido, who are part of a youth work group called "Yaxcabá", which focuses on promoting environmental conservation activities from their community. During the workshops, young people made representations of problems that afflict their communities, so that at the end, the viewers analyzed and reflected their points of view on the topic, generating a forum for debate. Among the issues mentioned by the young people, were: pollution, family disruption, addictions, among others.
This phase comes with it a strong motivation of the promoters, not to desist from their initiatives and participation in the process. "I am very happy because we have learned with each workshop to value nature, with a desire to continue. ", comentó Edgar, de la localidad El Palenque. “Now I feel more confident to be able to express what I feel, before I felt very shy ", affirmed Wendoly, from the Reforma locality.
