Climate Change education and capacity building.

One of the key strategies for AMBIO's work at the community level is raising awareness and training on the impacts of climate change and the analysis of the community tools that allow them to develop climate resilience.

Climate change is the main topic of the trainings. Likewise, it is necessary to have knowledge on landscape management, natural resources present in the communities, productive schemes that are ecofriendly, agroforestry systems, ancestral knowledge linked to nature, among others, that help building a comprehensive vision of the activities to be carried out in their territories and how they are being impacted by climate change.

The network of community technicians who collaborate with AMBIO have developed a range of skills, such as: biodiversity monitoring, management of agroforestry systems, pest control, design of landscape plans, silvopastoral techniques and use of medicinal plants. With these, AMBIO technicians have participated in the implementation of several governmental and non-governmental initiatives at a local level, aimed for the conservation and management of natural resources.

Some of the Programs in which they have participated are: Sembrando Vida (Ministry of Welfare), Payments for Environmental Services (National Forestry Commission-CONAFOR), Community Surveillance Programs (National Commission of Natural Protected Areas-CONANP), among others, with skills that open the doors to other spaces for economic and professional participation.
