The Scolel´te Program, operated by AMBIO, held the last technical meeting of 2019, with the participation of the Cooperative Staff, as well, as regional technicians. In this meeting, progress in the training of participants and the development of Planes Vivos for plots to be registered were delivered.
The update of the monitoring format was presented, which considers the collection of dasometric data (height and diameter) of plantations of agroforestry systems established since 2015, in order to obtain growth and biomass data.
Likewise, progress was made in the preliminary results of the timber inventory carried out during the months of April and May of this year. With these results, possible harvesting options were analyzed, based on the interest of the smallholders and the volume of standing timber.
Finally, the planning of plot monitoring activities for the next three months was carried out, for the new agroforestry systems registered and those already registered in the program, for follow-up.
