During the month of January, the First Meeting of Technicians of the Scolel´te Program was held. This meeting allowed the planning and programming of the field activities, to be carried out throughout the year.
It was addressed the issue of seed production for nurseries. The droughts that have affected the state of Chiapas, have caused that the periods of seed production to reamain with an erratic pattern. Given to this phenomenon, constant monitorings of the seed trees are being carried out, in order to identify the maturity period, which allows the collection to be carried out in a time.
Likewise, this year it is planned to implement a monitoring system with the use of technology, such as tablets. This will help technicians to collect information in the field, more quickly. This system considers the automatization of field, documentary and administrative information for the Scolel´te Program.
Finally, during 2019, three knowledge exchanges were celebrated, in three different work regions. These exchanges allowed to address various issues and doubts of the smallholders, technicians and staff of AMBIO, from the field vision. The technicians indicated that these meetings had a very good result, so it is planned that this year, 5 more exchanges will take place.
