This activity was developed within the framework of activities to strengthen the Regional Strategy for Fire Management with Inclusion of the Gender Perspective, developed in the REBISO. It seeks to link local actions with the regional and state instances that allow strengthening the Regional Fire Management Strategy in the Reserve. This week's events included the participation of the communities of Emilio Rabasa, San Joaquín el Progreso, Nuevo San Juan Chamula, Nicolás Bravo, La Florida, San Joaquín el Rosario (located in the municipality of Ocozocoautla de Espinosa) and Llano Grande (municipality of Jiquipilas), Chiapas, Mexico.
The aim of these workshops was to transmit to the population in general, mainly to minors, the knowledge of personal protection, the responsible use of the natural resources and the measures to prevent forest fires within El Ocote Biosphere Reserve. To achieve this, various activities were carried out, such as theater with puppets, team building, forest lottery, among other activities.
