Community monitoring and surveillance for socio-environmental resilience in the APRN La Frailescana.
The AMBIO Cooperative, with the support of the Triunfo A.C. Conservation Fund (FONCET), will develop the proposal "Community Monitoring and Surveillance for Socio-Environmental Resilience in the APRN La Frailescana”, in order to carry out collaborative activities with the Juan Sabines, Francisco Murguía, Ignacio Zaragoza and Plan de Ayala ejidos, located in the municipality of Villa Corzo and in the area of influence of the La Frailescana Natural Resources Protection Area (APRN).
This proposal has the support of the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas CONANP-Frailescana and the World Resources Institute (WRI). Its objective is to strengthen the sustainable management of the territory in ejidos of the APRN La Frailescana, promoting community surveillance activities, protection against forest fires and dissemination of good practices with a participatory approach.
Also, it seeks to strengthen capacities and equipment to brigade members for community surveillance, with the participation of local actors. It is expected to promote the use of technological tools for satellite monitoring of the territory and fire management (fire ecology and restoration of areas affected by fires), dissemination of good practices to residents, private owners and ejidatarios as alternatives for fire management.
