The Mexican Fund for the Conservation of Nature A.C. (FMCN) celebrated the “7th Week for Knowledge Exchange in Conservation, SICC 2021”, which had as a central topic “Reinventing with nature”. This year, it was considered to talk about the lessons learned derived from the COVID19 pandemic at a global level.
The event took place in three virtual work days and more than 14 synchronous sessions were presented with various panelists from FMCN partner organizations. It had more than 500 national and international attendees, who interacted in the work sessions developed under the Hubilo and Zoom platforms..
The AMBIO Cooperative was invited to participate as a panelist in the session "Reinventing Organizations", where the organization shared the challenge posed by fieldwork in the context of the pandemic, which led to the design of the "Manual for the Return to Office and Field Activities".
This Manual is intended to be a guide to mitigate the risks of infection among the organization's staff, with special emphasis in the work with communities, to allow the compliance of commitments acquired with the projects in operation, in a safe way. The FMCN highlighted on the last day of work that AMBIO is one of the first partner organizations to design and implement a manual of preventive measures to return to activities.
The purpose of the presentation was to share our experience during the pandemic, highlighting the difficulties, challenges and lessons learned that may be useful for other organizations. These contributes to a better adaptation and search of strategies to address processes, under different contexts. Likewise, there was the opportunity to learn from the experiences of other organizations, which contribute to strengthening the work of AMBIO.
