Our names are Itzel Rubí Alejo Osorio and Luis Enrique Salazar Fernández. We are from the state of Tabasco (south of Mexico) and we are currently studying for the Natural Resources Management Engineering degree at the Mesoamerican Polytechnic University.
We decided to make our second intership at the AMBIO Cooperative, because we read on their website about the Scolel´te Program. We belive that what they do it´s something very interesting and important for today, and for our future. The idea of the people being able receive a remuneration for doing something that benefits the environment, and ultimately benefits us, it is nice for us to know.
By participating in AMBIO, we had the opportunity to interact with people from different communities and to listen a little about the reality, how the environmental problems are everywhere and how they affect us all, especially in agricultural and livestock production, due to changes in rain patterns and droughts.
We need to face this reality, to do something to minimize those problems, and that it is part of what AMBIO seeks to do. Our experience at AMBIO was really delightful, we take new learnings and we hope that their work can reach many other places.
