{"id":12834,"date":"2023-10-31T20:05:08","date_gmt":"2023-11-01T02:05:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambio.org.mx\/?p=12834"},"modified":"2023-10-31T20:25:19","modified_gmt":"2023-11-01T02:25:19","slug":"lecciones-aprendidas-en-el-mercado-de-carbono-voluntario","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambio.org.mx\/en\/lecciones-aprendidas-en-el-mercado-de-carbono-voluntario\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Lessons learned in the voluntary carbon market.<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"<style type=\"text\/css\"><\/style>\n<p>Within the framework of the Conservation Knowledge Exchange (SICC) 2023 week, held in Mexico City in September, AMBIO participated in the panel \u201cExchange of experiences in the voluntary carbon market: lessons learned.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representatives of four carbon projects in the national voluntary market from different systems (mangroves, forest management, regenerative livestock and agroforestry) participated in the panel, such as Ambio, the experience of the Scolel'te program was presented as the longest in operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The panel's conclusions were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u2022 The need to disseminate more information about carbon markets and the development of projects for ejidos and communities is identified.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;\u2022 The information will allow communities to make better decisions when defining their participation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2022 Monitoring schemes must consider local characteristics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2022 The application of Free Prior and Informed Consent must be mandatory, since bad practices have been observed in the way communities are involved in carbon projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2022 Voluntary market carbon projects are an alternative to complement activities that promote sustainable rural development processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/ambio.org.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG2023-10-17.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12835\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambio.org.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG2023-10-17.jpeg 1000w, https:\/\/ambio.org.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG2023-10-17-300x135.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/ambio.org.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG2023-10-17-768x346.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/ambio.org.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG2023-10-17-18x8.jpeg 18w, https:\/\/ambio.org.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG2023-10-17-580x261.jpeg 580w, https:\/\/ambio.org.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG2023-10-17-860x387.jpeg 860w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>En el marco de la semana de Intercambio del Conocimiento en la Conservaci\u00f3n (SICC) 2023, realizada en la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico en el mes de septiembre, AMBIO particip\u00f3 en el panel \u201cIntercambio de experiencias en el mercado voluntario de carbono: lecciones aprendidas\u201d.
