Establishment of a community nursery in the ejido, San Joaquín El Rosario, Chiapas.

A pillar of the Scolel'te program is collaboration with ejidos and communities. Plant production at the local level motivates the participation and improvement of forestry and agroforestry systems through the enrichment of tropical timber trees, giving preference to local species.

During the month of February, activities began to establish a community nursery for the production of 50 thousand plants, of the species: Caobilla (Swietenia humilis), Guachipilín (Diphysa Americana), Cedar (Cedrela odorata) and Bojón (Cordia alliodora). We begin with the collection of seeds, their scarification and selection, in which both local men and women participate. The production of this plant will be distributed in the ejidos and communities that are registered in the program, as well as those interested in joining.
