Strengthening of Capacities and Gender Perspective
AMBIO has established as an organization recognized nationally and internationally for operating under a scheme that prioritizes the strengthening of local capacities. It seeks to promote rural development in a comprehensive, harmonious manner, in accordance with a gender perspective approach. It contributes to preserve knowledge, management practices, conservation of natural resources and to improve the socioeconomic aspects of the communities.
AMBIO has developed a platform for the training and development of human capital in rural areas that allows solving local problems and learning from global experiences. Priority issues have been identified in which the organization has specialized to provide training and workshops aimed at inclusive participation, in order to improve the livelihoods of people and communities.
The identification, training and strengthening of technicians in communities is a mechanism that drives and promotes AMBIO within the communities of work. With the training of specialized human capital in the areas of incidence, a base of specialized people in communities has been trained in various topics of local impact.
The learning of the communities has allowed carry out a participatory work that develops processes of local planning of the territory, with which the decision-making of small farmers is helped, with a sustainable vision of the territory. The foregoing has generated environmental awareness and a vision of conservation within the communities where the work is done.
In recent years, efforts have been made to encourage the participation of vulnerable groups, particularly women at the community level based on their integration in the various activities derived from the Scolel'te Program, as well as those developed by the projects implemented by AMBIO.
This line of action is implemented transversally with the lines of action of integrated management of the territory and climate change and biodiversity.
